whats it about?

The photo featured in the background is titled as "Three coal miners of the Lorain Coal and Dock Company, Lorado, West Virginia, 1918" in the Library of Congress's digital archives.

The choice of coal miners as the worker to represent the working class was deeply inspired by "Which Side Are You On?" sung by Florence Reece, 1931, written about the Harlan County War in my homestate of Kentucky. as Florence said,

"don't scab for the bosses, don't listen to their lies
us poor folk haven't got a chance, unless we organize"

Shahzaad Raja created the beautiful mixed media collage, you see as the woman in the background of this stamp. Please check out the original work as the detail and craftsman ship of the work is worth looking at in high def.

The Palestinian people deserve freedom, pleasure, and a safe world to live in; we can not turn a blind eye to their suffering. Check out this article about the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music to read about folks there are using music to "see beauty despite the destruction." or Check out Survival and Education Fund for the Al Banna Family if you can, to help provide some aid to a family in Palestine.
